Weekly driving lessons
- Who will benefit?
- Absolute beginners or people with very little driving experience.
- Format
- One or two 1-hour lessons per week.
- Comments
- This is our recommended course for learner drivers, and is the way most people learn with us. Typically, around 40 to 45 hours of tuition are needed to prepare you for your driving test by this route.
Intensive course
- Who will benefit?
- People who need to pass the driving test quickly.
- Format
- Daily 4-hour lessons, Monday to Friday (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon).
- Comments
- This type of course can be very effective, but is not for everyone — some people might find such intensive learning rather stressful.
Refresher course
- Who will benefit?
- People who have not driven for some time and have lost driving experience.
- Format
- A total of six 1-hour lessons, taken three per week, Monday to Friday, over a two week period.
- Comments
- This is for full licence holders who have not driven for some time and need to bring their driving up to the required standard, especially on today’s roads. The course is tailored individually, depending on your needs and experience. It could include motorway driving, city and rural driving, and intricate manoeuvres.
Confidence booster
- Who will benefit?
- People who have failed previous tests and lost confidence.
- Format
- A course of 20 lessons may suffice, which will find weaknesses in your driving and bring you up to test standard.
- Comments
- This course should give you the right motivation with not too much pressure. It will gradually build your confidence and make you feel in control of your car, and will prepare you for a future driving test.
Pass Plus
- Who will benefit?
- Drivers who have recently passed their driving test and need to expand their driving experience.
- Format
- This is a modular course approved by the Driving Standards Agency. It involves a minimum of 6 hours tuition taken over a period of one week or longer, depending on your availability.
- Comments
- This course quickly increases new drivers’ experience with the added benefit of obtaining discounts of at least 30% from their first insurance premium with participating insurers. You are allowed 12 months after passing your driving test in which to complete this course. Once you have completed the Pass Plus course, the DSA will be advised and they will issue a Pass Plus Certificate to you. You can find out more about Pass Plus on the advanced tuition page.
