Learn to drive an automatic transmission car

Once upon a time, automatic transmission cars were more expensive, less reliable, less fuel-efficient, and less widely available than manual models. Modern automatics have largely eliminated or reduced the impact of these factors. These days, car manufacturers generally offer a good number of automatic options across their product ranges. Automatics are becoming more popular and more readily available in car showrooms.
Many people find driving an automatic to be more enjoyable than a manual car. They have a couple of clear advantages for learners:
- Automatics are much easier to master than manual transmission cars.
- You will find that you will be ready for your test earlier than if you learn in a manual vehicle.
You should be aware that if you pass your test in an automatic, the driving licence you are awarded will only permit you to drive automatic vehicles unsupervised. If you want to be able to drive manual cars without supervision, then you should learn to drive and sit your test in a manual.
